update to this post. I have now found that Robert Storie`s mother`s death certificate has her mothers maiden name on it ( that would be Robert Storie`s grandmother ). The death cert has the maiden name of Roberts grandmother as Crosbie. Finally; problem solved.

looking for any link with a Robert Crosbie and his wife Jessie (nee Mcgill) who moved to Liverpool from Scotland pre 1871 census with their 2 children James and Robert b. 1859 and 1860. The census say`s they came from Midlothian but can`t find any record of a marraige between them. any help would be appreciated. By the way the names of their other children (born in England )were, Alexander,David ,John,Jane.
I now believe that Robert Crosbie was once called Robert Storie and for some reason he changed his name and moved from Edinburgh prior to 1871. The only marriage I found for Janet ( Jessie Mcgill was to a Robert Storie. He was the same age, had the same occupation, his two eldest children were James & Robert born in the same years exactly as my two and there is no census records for the family in any census after 1861; there is no death record in Scotland for Robert Storie either. Hope someone can help.
