Hi,
Walter Sharkey was my grandfather's uncle. Walter was Chief Fire Officer in Carlisle.

hi edwina mybe just coincidance i am robert sharkey my mother was jean lawson while reseaching the sharkey side i came across a walter sharkey as awitness at a wedding iassume he must be arelation but the only walter ican find is from annan in dumfriesborn 1899 age would be right but cant find link but travel from annan to glasgow in 1930s for wedding would think must be family another thing that may help your saerch is to check sharkie astwo of my family changed spelling and i have comr across three other unconnected sharkey famies where the same thing happened hope this helps regards bob

my name is edwina and my maiden name was sharkey. born in carlisle 1943, my father was walter sharkey and was one of eleven children. i believe their are relations in scotland, america, austrialia,glad of any connect,
