My name is Vivien Saunders (now Bhattacharjee). My mother's maiden Name was Walker and lived in the Wrekenton area of Gateshead. My father Eric was born to May and Horace Saunders, but Horace was not my father's birth father. My father Eric was married to a Muriel Burland but she died during the second world war. My father had a brother called Vernon. My grandfather Horace worked in an aeroplane factory, possibly Rolls Royce, possibly Coventry. I don't know how I will trace my father's true father as my grandmother May is now dead and did not disclose to me the father of my father. I have reason to believe he may not have been white or British. My father was very dark, with dark brown eyes , and thick wavy dark brown hair. I am the same. My grandmother, May, later married someone called Edward Ford.
