This is a total long shot! My dad, Alan Alexander (1922 to 1993)served in the Merchant Navy during the 2nd world war. I seek his records, but cannot progress without knowing at least the name of a vessel and perhaps where it sailed from (Liverpool?). Is there, please, any old sailor out there who might remember him? he would have been probably late teen or twenties and I know he was in the gallies(is that spelt right?) as he said that the cook put curry spices into everything and it put him off curry for life!! |
