I have looked on the net for Bicknell and it seems they were all descended from one Roger de Pavilly of Bickenhulle of Somerset b: 1066 and his wife Johanne D'lestre. They came from Normandy and the tree has been traced back to 860 and the Knights de Pavilly. They spread out and my branch stayed in and around Farnham. One of our ancestors married John Constable. There seem to be many Bicknells around the Farnham area to this day.
