My father RONALD ALFRED GODWIN was born 11/03/1934 in Leytonstone,London. His father's name was EDGAR & mother I think was VIOLET (do not know her maiden name) My Dad had 1 brother EDWARD and maybe a sister CATHERINE. He was evacuated to Somerset during the war and never had contact with his parents again. He died in 1987 and had maintained to his dying day that he knew nothing else of any member of his family. After his death we found photos, Merchant Navy Passbooks and other official papers that prove he knew his brother Edward up until approx. 1959 when Edward left the Navy and settled in Australia. We have since been in contact with someone who knew my uncle and he in turn had never discussed the family. We believe he died circa. 1975 Anyone with any info however small on any of the Godwins listed, please contact me. |
