I am trying to trace the history of my paternal grandfather John Redmayne who I believe was born in Clitheroe possibly about 1870. He married my grandmother Susannah Grime and they lived at 26 Harrop Street, Clitheroe before moving to Darwen about 1912/1914. They had 4 children, Letitia (Letty) Harold, Jack (John) and Norman (my father). On my father's birth certificate it states that his father John was a Chimney Sweep although on my father's marriage certificate it states that he was a printer in a wallpaper works. |
