My great grandfather was William Yates born in 1859 in Camberwell London..Married in Swansea to Mary Ann (maiden name Williams) on 5th May 1882 I think he died in Swansea and had a son named William John Yeates. His father was Joseph Yates born in 1826 in Paddington, His mother was Francis Yates born in 1826 in Bermondsey. On 1871 census Joseph, William and family registered at 11 Carlton Street London Joseph aged 45 Head Chair and Cabinet Lawyer Born Middlesex Paddington ???? 1826 -1827 Francis aged 45 Wife Born Surrey Bermondsey Possibly married around age 25 …..1849 to 1851 Children: Joseph James aged 20 Carman Born Surrey Bermondsey Anthony John aged 16 William Chas (Charles) aged 12 Born Surrey Bermondsay Henry Thomas aged 11 Born Surrey Waldsworth James aged 9 Born Surrey Waldsworth George aged 6 Surrey Peckham Rosanna aged 4 Surrey Peckham Joseph was a cabinet maker. He at some stage lived in Camberwell London and had a son born there named William Yates born 1859. William later moved to Swansea where he married Mary Ann on 5th May 1882.
