Dyball. Trying to find my grandfather's half brother John Henry Dyball who was born in 1873. His mother died in the work house in West Beckham, Norfolk two weeks after he was born. He stayed in the workhouse till he was in his teens and appears in London on the 1891 Sensus. I thought I found details of him being in Scotland in 1901 with a family. If there are any Dyballs in Scotland for whom this rings a bell, PLEASE get in touch. I have a diary of my grandfather's in which he says that JHD was had to retire with no pension. This was on Feb 23rd 1938, so I know he was alive then. John Henry's half brother was called William Matthew Moore (my grandfather) and their mother was Ann Elizabeth Dyball. Neither brother had a father around! In the words of my late mother, she certainly put it about a bit! Doreen
