My father's family were from Ireland, I believe, and I should love to find out more about them, if possible. My grandfather, also Edward Daley, died in early 1940, my father (same name) on 01/01/1966, so I am unable to find out any more details. I have always wondered whether Grandad Daley was born in Leeds; or whether he was born in Ireland and brought here as a baby/small child? My father had two elder brothers, John and Dominic, both long-dead, though they both were married, with children. Grandad had a brother, Dennis, I know, but I am not aware of any other siblings. Grandad was a very regular member of Mount St.Mary's church on the Bank, in Leeds, but otherwise my knowledge is very limited. He died when he was 54, and he and my grandmother lived for the later part of their lives in Stowe Grove, Leeds. My grandmother's maiden name was Ellen Ellis, and she died in 1939. I realise this is a very long shot, but any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Andrea Bird (nee Daley).
