His father's name was George Holmes, his mother's name was Eliza, formerly called Oldham. He had two brothers, Valentine, and Norman, and a sister, Ivy. There was perhaps a further brother whose name escapes me. They all spent some time in a children's home at Style near Manchester when his first father died and before his mother re-married. He married Alice Cowen in 1933. Norman had a son, also called Norman who would be about 60 years old now. His sister Ivy's married name is Tomlinson, husband Thomas, son Ronald. My father lost touch with his brothers and sister in the 1960's, I would like to contact any family members. |
