Margaret Report 15 Dec 2002 19:56

My mother was Margaret Mather, born in Pendleton on 2/9/1909, she married Philip Gaughran, who was born in Dublin on 30.11.1901. Her father was Edmund Charles Mather, who was born in Hindley, Wigan on 12/1/1875. His father - James Mather, was born in Wigan in 1835, he was married to Elizabeth Woods, who was born in Roscommon in 1841. His father, also James Mather, was also born in Wigan, this time in 1809. He was married to Margaret Wood, who was born in 1808 - also in Wigan. In the 1861 census, James Mather was shown to be married to Mary Mather. I would be interested to know at what point they married, her date of birth and what her name was before she married. I would also be interested in any other information on the family at all and would love to hear from you.
