Edward and Doris’s son’s baptism is on LanOPC site. I can’t C&P at the moment as I’m on my iPad

So the 1911 census posted earlier for the Melia family with father Edward is not the right one, and the birth suggested for Edward may also not be the right one.

So father is John Henry O'Melia.

I agree, it would be sensible to get the marriage cert, for the father's details. You want to be sure you're following the right trail.

I would suggest that the marriage cert would be more useful, for father’s name and occupation, as there is an element of doubt about the info found being for the person whose death gives a birth date of 13th December

no o'melia birth on gro for 1904

he was my brother in laws grandfather and he told me that he was born and bred in liverpool but he doesnt know very much more about him . his mother had an disagreement with her father so he didnt see much of his grandparents

i guess i will have to send off for their marriage cert to find out more
