Hi I'm on ancestry and I've got this 1939 register up for Ernest Haynes 1914 and wife Olive 1913 they married in 1935 Manchester yet their are 8 blanked off spaces on the census I know it's possibly unlikely but has any of the other sites got the blanked off spaces revealed?
I have found one child Mavis 1936 then another Anita 1942 which is too late to count

Thank you
Sylvia

Anyone who was born less than 100 years before the register was released had their names blanked out unless their death had been picked up.

The two births you have found for the couple are the only Haynes births with mother's maiden name of Hornby so the other people were not children.

There are no blanked out records anywhere on the page. There is a note “see page 16” which may need checking out
As there was a child born in 1936, one would have expected there to be one blank

The birth was registered in Ashton under Lyne district which seems a touch odd in view of where the marriage took place, and where Ernest and Olive were living in 1939

It is also strange that Olive is in employment, which one would not expect if she had a 3 year old child

Ernest and Olive appear twice (Ancestry) - one version will be the "page 16" referred to.

One has them as Kath has posted above, with no closed records.
"Page 16" seems to refer mainly to Ernest, as his name is scored out in red, with the note beside it. The note's repeated on Olive's line, but her name's not scored out.

The other has them as Sylvia has found, with 8 closed records in between Ernest and Olive. The transcription wrongly says Ernest's DOB is 14/10/1914. The image only says Oct 1914.
In the first record his DOB is 1 Oct 1914.
