Thank you all for all your information. I may have got Sarah's birth incorrect as being born in Bury-St - Edmunds but the information you have supplied from census in 1871 is my family as the daughter of John and Sarah , Emily Tandy Thompson was my great grandmother and married Albert Bickell and they were the parents of my maternal grandmother.


No I do not have any birth certificate as yet. I live in South Africa and it is not always possible for me to order certificates due to the rate of exchange.

Maybe the Thomsons with the name Tandy quoted above could be ancestors due to the fact that that mt great grandmother was named Emily Tandy Thompson?

The birth records I posted are for John and his brother. With (as indicated) MMN Tandy

You asked about John’s siblings and I provided the info, plus that for some of his antecedents

As I stated, only in 1871 did Sarah claim to have been born in Bristol
