I am looking for the obituary if there was one, or any information in the newspaper for my cousin Meghan Rees who died in Barry, Wales on 2nd September 1978, she was drowned.

I don't have a subscription for newspapers, have tried the free sites and also find a grave etc but all have no results.

She was born Meghan Richards in March qtr 1942, and she married Mervyn J Rees in Dec qtr 1959.

I am also trying to find the names of her children whom I am hoping will be named in any obituary, if there is one.

I have found 4 possible children on Free BMD, they may all be hers, I know she had 3 or 4. They were all born in Bridgend.

Yes, I have those, I was hoping if I found an obituary or newspaper article about the accident it would name the children as it sometimes does. Her death was accidential and tragic as she was so young.

Have you contacted the local paper for the area?

No, but that is a good idea.

Also I may have a lead on one of the daughters, I could write to her to see if she is who I think she is.

I've just looked at the newspapers on FindMyPast ........

......... they don't have any British newspapers between 1967 and 1980

Deborah ....

that just means that the records have not been digitised by that site.

Do not let that stop you from contacting the local Library or the Local Archives and Study Centre to see if they can help you.

Thank you, I have their number now, so I shall do that, it's really her childrens names that I am after, I was hoping that any obituary or newspaper article may name them, but I may now have the contact details for one of them, so another option I now have is to write to her, tried to get a phone number but she is not listed.

I am really grateful for all your suggestions.
