Am looking into sibling of my 3x great grandfather James Walter Chiveralls 1811 - 1835.

I have details of his descendants down to myself, but it is the is the siblings I am needing help with.


All born in Tisbury, Wiltshire - Jane 1803, John 1805 - 1842, Anne 1807, George 1809, Mary 1814, Henry 1816, Elizabeth 1820, Stephen, 1823 & Elias 1827 - 1906.


I have Elizabeth marrying John Sanger in February 1842 Tisbury. Nothing else!

Can anyone please help?

Their parents are - William Chiverall 1773 - 1839 & Elizabeth Burdon 1784 - 1871.

Since my Aunt Betty was named Elizabeth Johnstone Greig after her gran, I was well aware that Betty was a common form of Elizabeth (as well as a name in its own right).
It's a bit more worrying there's no other records where Betty is used for your Elizabeth.
However, every record I found for my g gran shows her as Elizabeth except one - she appears as Lizzie on the 1901 census.
So I beleive Mary 1914 is the 2nd Mary, but it's your family.

On the 1887 OS map, there's also a cluster of houses around Ridge Pottery, a further 100m S of ridge.
As you can see from the OS grid ref, Knap Farm was almost 3 (3=32-29) km N of St John's
