Have you tried searching member trees to see if anyone has this name??

Click on Search at top right, then on Search All Trees.

If the name does appear, you will get a list of member names, and can contact them by pm (private message) through the GR system.

Do give them all the information that you can regarding your interest in this man.

This pdf document summarises what records are held at the West Midlands Police Museum.

The West Midlands records start on page 150 of the document (the document is a guide to the Archives of Police Forces in England and Wales)

I just thought you could see for yourself whether there might be something you would want the volunteer to home in on, or even if the relevant period has much in the way of documentation.

I’ve visited the Wolverhampton archives they have little information on Wolverhampton Borough Police. I have got someone who is a volunteer at the Police Museum who is going to have a look for me through the records. My intention is to revisit the archives and look through the local papers.

Many thanks to those who have replied :-D :-D

I got some 19th century records for a policeman from the West Midlands police museum. I did put a thread on here about some years ago, but can't find it at the moment. I thinks its based in Sparkhill.

1939 register does not show any Sephton in Wolverhampton or vicinity who is a Police Officer

So, either he was living/stationed elsewhere, or he didn't join the Police Force until after Sept 1939

Unlikely that anyone here will just happen to have info

Have you tried the local newspaper?

Are you in the force yourself?

Anyone have any information on PC 92 Sephton of Wolverhampton Borough Police. I have no first name or any details other than he was dismissed from the force in 1941. Thanks in advance.
