Alice married John Bates in 1875 . Reg Winchester and lived at Bursledon.
The last census they were both together in was the 1901 census , Looks like 40 Winton St. Southampton.
After that John, alone, appeared in the 1911 as a paid assistant in Stoneham workhouse. Alice is not there. (I found once an Alice Hamber there) but this is no proof.
Have tried every possible site for her death. Have done fam trees for 17 years but her death WILL NOT come up. any-where.
Does any-one have this lady in their tree. Her father was Thomas Amber. Brother William Amber.

it is extremely rare that you will get a response form someone just passing by who has this lady in their tree.

You have to search the trees yourself.

Go to Search at top right

Click on Search All Trees

Enter her name, birth date etc

If any trees show ....... contact the tree owner by pm

Please give them as much information as you can to show that you are a bona fide searcher looking for an ancestor.

According to family trees on Ancestry ................

Alice Amber married John Frederick Bates


Looking at the 1911 Census, it does state that John is a Widower.

Unless he is lying (not unusual!!), then that means that Alice died between 1901 and 1911

Alice was baptised 28/12/1856

(1901 says she was born Devizes.)
