Do you have the divorce file? Sometimes the 'innocent' husband contrived to be found in a compromising position to enable his wife to divorce.

If you don't have it, it would be worth searching the national archives using her married surname.

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/divorce/

The survival rate of divorce case files is:

1858-1927: almost 100%
1928-1937: 80%
After 1937: less than 0.2%

There's only one result mentioning Schatt or Scott, and that appears to be between a married couple.

Reference: J 77/2612/1184
Description:
Divorce Court File: 1184. Appellant: Sylvia Schatt otherwise Sylvia Scott. Respondent: Joseph Schatt otherwise Jock Scott. Type: Wife's petition for divorce [WD].

Date: 1928

wow you guys are amazing thank you so much!!!....I am pretty sure that is the David Scott I'm looking for....he would have been born on or about 1897 so age aligns as well...and the familly name was Schatt, changed to Scott...I have no solid proof but my grandmother born 1900 may have been in a relationship with David that caused her marriage to end in divorce in 1928 and a son born in 1924 that was not her husband's child....hence the divorce. Not sure I will ever be able to connect all the dots. AncestryDNA has tied me to a women with the last name Schatt and I've reached out to her but no response yet....

Look in search all member trees for connections

Unlikely that anyone using the boards will have any.

Anyone here connected to the Ronnie Scott (Schatt) family? I am particularly interested in David Scott, who I believe was Ronnie's Uncle.

It's the typical "skeleton in the closet" from 1923/1924.

Does anyone have any connections to David Scott (Schatt).

Thanks
