Hi
I've hit a brick wall.Vincent Hendon Stormont married Florence Russell in Ealing 1910,father Vincent Stormont deceased.
He appears on the 1911 census born c1885 in Brighton Sussex.
There is no other record that I can find,no 1891/1901 census
I really would appreciate some help.

A tree on Ancestry says he was born 31/12/1884 in Brighton, and that his father was Henry Alexander Wood Stormont 1856-85.

However, I don't see any such birth in Brighton.

It looks as if Vincent may have been illegitimate, and registered under his mother's surname - but still don't see the birth of any Vincent in Brighton 1883-5.

If he was illegitimate he could also have just given a name and said deceased so there's no way to check

It wasn't uncommon to do this to cover illegitimacy

Absolutely NOT to be taken as correct ( link below) - just an example of how badly wrong family tree research can be, even by a "genealogy expert".

No, there isn't one.

Vincent may be a name he's decided on for himself in adulthood.

So might his surname, for that matter.
We have no proof that Henry was his father.
