No problem Elizabeth, you're welcome.

In his marriage to Lucy on the 25th April 1922, he is a 48 year old widower, a publican of 42 Johnson Street. His father, William Edward Crane is a retired overseer for Southwark Borough Council.

Lucy is also a widow, 51 of the same address. Her father was James Fisher (dec) a carpenter. Witnesses were John Jenkins, E Crane, Leslie John Jenkins and Ethel Ruth Crane.

I don't believe the 1965 burial Malyon posted is him:

William Edwward Crane
BillionGraves Index
Name: William Edwward Crane
Event Type: Burial
Event Place: London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom
Cemetery: Plumstead Cemetery

Death Date: 06 Jul 1965

as I said before, I think it was connected to this death, and this William is too young:

Deaths Sep 1965 CRANE WILLIAM E 55 WOOLWICH 5E 786

The London electoral register still has William at Johnson St in 1926:

Name: William Edward Crane
Year: 1926
County or Borough: Westminster
Ward or Division/Constituency: City of Westminster
Street address: 42 Johnson Street

Lucy is also there.

EDIT: I see this information is on the other thread :-(

Have you found any record suggesting he was at the pub in 1934?

Elizabeth

Elizabeth Report 18 Apr 2018 13:18

I think his death must be the one in 1927 as it says Hanover Sqare...thought he was still at the pub then though!
