Thank you I think william married again. It is strange I can’t find any trace of him after 1930’s.

When did his wife die?

There is a marriage in 1922 of a William Edward Crane aged 48 to Lucy Jenkins in Westminster

the 1922 marriage william is a publican and a widower

lives at 42 johnson street

hes 48 years old

his father is william edward crane

an oversear

I think his death must be the one in 1927 as it says Hanover Sqare...thought he was still at the pub then though!

Have you found any record suggesting he was at the pub in 1934?

In his marriage to Lucy on the 25th April 1922, he is a 48 year old widower, a publican of 42 Johnson Street. His father, William Edward Crane is a retired overseer for Southwark Borough Council.

Lucy is also a widow, 51 of the same address. Her father was James Fisher (dec) a carpenter. Witnesses were John Jenkins, E Crane, Leslie John Jenkins and Ethel Ruth Crane.
