Like many trees on Ancestry that one is not to be relied on. It has the enlistment papers for John, the father, where it clearly states that his wife is Catherine Critchlow.

Nyx im so sorry I missed your post

I had never seen much of that tree as I'm not a member on ancestry...it could possibly be an old one before I had contact with them.

It was just such a surprise to see another sibling of my dads may have been uncovered

Thanks for taking time to look though I appreciate it

Kind regards

Pam

Pam

Pam Report 26 Nov 2017 22:07

There is obviously an error there somewhere because it says
Evelyn Ann born 5 January 1910
Peter born 3 May 1910

Pam

Pam Report 26 Nov 2017 22:05

It's so strange...the tree was compiled by my cousins husband, I never really had proper contact with her..
I gave him all the relatives I had discovered.

The John born 1920 was actually my dads nephew not brother.

My grandparents were married in 1901 Liverpool and I have all the family traced back to Ireland before they came here in the 1820s except for an elusive one that was either named or nicknamed frank...no one has ever discovered him and I was hoping somehow James might have been him..

Aw thank you so much for looking for me, I think I'll just discard James as it seems he belongs to another Family.

Kind regards

Do your tree as you research it. Don't rely on somebody else.
The only way you can be really sure is to buy the birth certificates

The spelling of the name might have led to confusion ? for instance

Births Jun 1917 (>99%)
Logan James McGuire Sunderland 10a 1027 99%)

Logan James Maguire Sunderland 10a 885
Maguire Mary E Logan Sunderland 10a 885

Births Sep 1920 (>99%)
Logan John McGuire Liverpool 8b 82

Births Jun 1918 (>99%)
Logan Mary F Maquire Liverpool 8b 79

With Ancestry trees, many are just works in progress, and not everyone checks the facts before adding people.

I can't see why the tree says that John was married to a 'Maguire' when there is no proof cited for this and all the details on there show his wife and the mother of all his children was a spinster called Catherine Critchlow at the marriage ??

Thank you so much Dea

I don't understand the names he has included as my dad had sister Mary Frances and brother Michael for sure
The Frank was born in Blackburn to different first name parents than my dads and I definitely don't understand how Evelyn could be dads sister!

Now I'm more confused than ever lol

Pam

I looked down the list of tree members with my dads name on them and I saw James logan birth 1915 father John logan mother Mary Catherine Maguire in the Mannion tree
The list came up after I had typed my dads name date and place of birth and his parents names.
I took a photo to make sure I was seeing right because this James had never been mentioned though dad had an elusive supposed brother name Frank
I can't ask him anything as he passed away in he 90s and the rest of my family are all deceased.
I never knew any of his relatives growing up and was only in touch with my cousin for a short time before losing contact.
Im wondering if it has been taken it off since I viewed it?
