I think that marriage may be the right one, as not seeing William Lindsay with an Ann in 1861 and 71

Does it give an occupation for John on the cert ?

The 1862 burial relates to a different Ann, age 12 so doesn't appear to be connected.

What have you found prior to the marriage - I'm just wondering if her mother re-married to a Lindsay, and that was what she married under, although born Lloyd? Or she may have been born prior to her mothers marriage to John Lindsay, and recorded as Lloyd on the census?

and then this marriage, which fits for time and place and ages.

Name: Thomas Pitt - Gas fitter
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Birth Date: abt 1836
Marriage Date: 9 Mar 1857
Marriage Place: Birmingham, St George, Warwickshire, England
Parish as it Appears: Birmingham, St George
Search Photos: Search for 'Birmingham, St George' in the UK City, Town and Village Photos collection
Father: Joseph Pitt
Spouse: Ann Lindsay - spinster father John Lindsay

Witnesses namse very hard to read.

Both Thomas and Ann are correct age for the census records.

My problem. All the births that I can find to match the census show MMN Lloyd. As far as I can see there are no Pitt/Lindsay births. Ann Lindsay says spinster so no previous name. I cannot see Ann Lindsay with father John in previous census.

The occupation for Thomas varies, Gas fitter, Chandelier maker, Brass founder.

So, have I got the correct marraige to match the censuses? I can't see Ann Lloyd marrying Thomas Pitt.

Please note, I don't need any other info about the family, just trying to sort out the marriage for Thomas and Ann.

Grateful for any assistance

Andy
