I did look at that birth Rootgather.
It was also registered in 2 separate parishes Thornton and Buckhaven
The child was born in Thornton but info also passed to Buckhaven
I cannot recall the parents but, I did check and found that this was not Henrietta's son.

Her son was called William Stewart b 17 Sep 1911 at the Combination Poorhouse in Markinch.
Henrietta's usual address was C/o Wm McAdam 176 Denbeath.

This man and his wife were the witnesses at her marriage to William Phiillps just 1 month later.
At this time, Henrietta was no longer in domestic service. She was a Coal Pithead worker
William Phillips was also a coalminer.
He was also living at 176 Denbeath when they married, which is why I suspect that he was the biological father

This took a while but, Joseph Spears was a widower when he married Henrietta at 1950.
I wondered if he was widowed before the birth of their 1st child in Dec 1913.

The plot thickens...

At 1911, Joseph of the correct age appears in Dysart with a wife named Grace and 3 children.
James 8yr, Nora 5yr and Maggie 1yr
Although I could identify these births, I couldn't find a marriage.

I have since discovered that it was registered in Burntisland 1900 under the name of
Joseph "Pears" married to Grace Ritchie.

1901 Kirkcaldy
Name Age
John Leary 63
Mary Mitchell Leary 45
Joseph Spears (Lodger) 25 B IRELAND mason's labourer
Grace Spears 22 Wife B Aberdeen

I am assuming that it is the same Joseph
Son of John Spears and Jane Davies.

If this is his previous marriage, ....
Joseph and Henrietta's 1st child was born on 27 Dec 1913.
Even if Grace died at the end of 1913.... Joseph must already have been in a relationship with Henrietta because.....

Grace Spears/Ritchie died in Dundee in 1914 !

Joseph and Henrietta's children must surely have been aware of their half siblings. Looks like Norah remained in Fife
