The hospital still exists, now called the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability.

These are just a few of the possibly helpful websites:

Is this thread yours, Maureen?

https://www.british-genealogy.com/archive/index.php/t-33450.html

If so, did you write to them ? What was the result?

EDIT:
No, it's probably not your thread - it 's about a Sarah Smith, not Roberson - but the timeframe is the same.

If it's not your thread, perhaps you could follow the advice given in it.

If you Google the name of the hospital, a lot of information can be found, although I doubt very much if they would have lists of patients.

Have you found her on the1871 census

After many years of searching I feel I may have found my 2xgreat grandmother.
I have just received a death certificate for a Sarah Roberson, right age, who died in the Royal Wandsworth Hospital for Incurables in February 1878, cause, spinal disease for 8 years and bronchitis.
All my instincts tell me this is the right one. I wonder if she had TB of the spine as TB was rife in her family
Is there any way I can find out more about this place and possibly see a record of admittance or similar.
Has anyone else got experience of this?
Advice much appreciated
