Do you know his mother's maiden name so that we can locate his birth? I can't find one in Kensington, or if not do you know if he had any middle names?

Is it possible that he has passed away in the years after the death index stops online (around 2006/7)?

only births I can see 1922 are in wandsworth Lambeth and Paddington in the London area

Paddington and Kensington lost and gained bits of each other over the years so maybe this one ? They must be close enough to each other for a difference of opinion as to whether born one or the other.
