have you checked travel info for the half brothers in case they became Home Children

Thanks for this information..............my dads auntie, Frances Simpson married a Matthew Garrett and left for Jersey sometime in 1911 to 1918. I found their daughters registration card for when the Germans invaded but nothing more.

My dad had several half brother, I have just found out, were placeds in Dr B's about 1916 to 1921 ish.

This site gives details of Dr Barnardos but it isn't cheap!:

Ancestry has the 1901 & 911 Channel Island censuses.

If you post some details of who you are looking for, I am sure somebody will try to help.

I don't think you will find records of people leaving for Jersey.

JerseyLily who posts on here helps a lot with Jersey records. I will try to find her thread and post it.

Afternoon All,
1.How can I find out about children taken into Dr Barnardos in the early 1900's ? Portsmouth in particular
2. How can I find information about people living on Jersey and leaving for Jersey in the early 1900's please.
