With 6th Cameron Highlanders No 359017 when admitted 1.8.1917 without trace of visible wound and had become non-effective from physical conditions claimed or presumed to have originated from effects of British or enemy weapons in action.

Head ache and pains in back and shoulder.

States that at 2pm Right of Ypres 2 shells burst 7 yards away, he was blown up and crawled back and found himself in R.G.A. lines very much shaken up and nervous. Classified shell shock.

Transferred to A.P.C.

Discharged Service 3.3.1919

On enlistment to 10th Kings Liverpool (Liverpool Scottish)18 yr 6 months. 5' 6 ½ '
123 lbs. His occupation was Side piecer./cotton spinner Born Parish of St Marks

Recommendation sent to War Office for him to join Liverpool Scottish as several of his friends already serving there.
