Was the soldier she married British? If so could you find their marriage on the overseas section of the index? What was your great grandmother's name?

If the records were destroyed, I'm afraid no technology can make them reappear.

However, you might find helpful hints here:

Hi all I'm trying to trace my great grandmother she was from Constantinople and married a soldier during war and the settled in Britain . Any tips on obtaining records from other countries her son went over to try and find out where we came from with no luck as the records got destroyed in war I'm hoping that technology has come along way since then and there must be some way of finding out.
