I found his marriage in 1944 and birth of child in 1945 but
I can't find his death?

Thanks for the help. I de really appreciate if someone can please explain where to find these things when i can't find it on this site. Why isn't his death date on freeBMD or on genes reunited?

bdm only has deaths upto 1970 and genes reunted abou 2006

www.freebmd.org.uk is the free site most of us use ......... it carries the records from July 1 1837 to about 1975.

Ancestry (subscription site) carries the records from 1837 to 2006

FMP also carries the GRO Index for a similar period to ancestry, and GR has obtained the records it carries from freebmd and from FMP.

They obtain the originals from the GRO Index, and transcribe them for putting on to the net. GRO decided some years ago that they would not be releasing the Index after 2006 ....... obviously some later records are available but no-one is quite sure where from, as records after 2006 (such as the 2008 found for you) are not shown in GRO format.

It is ONLY an Index, so you have to buy the certificate to see details.
