It is very unlikely that someone will stumble on this message. Very few members actually look at the Boards.

You have to search Member trees yourself to see if anyone has him in their tree.

Got to Search at the top right

Click on Search All Member Trees

Enter his name, and click submit

If he is in any tree(s), a list will appear of the names of tree holders.

Click on each name in turn, and send them a pm (private message through GR's internal system).

Please do NOT use any of the suggested automatic messages or ask them to open their tree to you. Most of us do not respond to those.

Explain why you think you might be related and / or connected.

Send the message(s), then wait.

A lot depends on whether the other member still has the same email address that is on file with GR, but members also die or become disabled and their trees remain on GR because no-one but a member can delete them.

You can check your Sent messages to see if the message has been received.

Go to Messages at the top right

Click on Sent Messages.

If there is a green envelope to the left of the name, the message has not been opened.

If there is no envelope showing to the left, the message has been opened, and then you just have to wait to see if the member wishes to make contact with you.

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on Robert Kleeman for me.
Born 1951 in London, we believe he originally had the surname "Bryant", until he moved in with a foster family later in childhood, and at some point changed his name to "Kleeman". I think he had siblings, but don't know names or even how many unfortunately.
He grew up in London and the South East, and moved to Yorkshire in the 1980's after getting married in 1978.
He sadly died in 1995, and so much information is still missing...it would be lovely to know more if anyone can help!

Thanks, Jen
