You need to be more specific about what information you are trying to find so that someone can try to help.

Just found this on ebay....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ice-Skating-Album-John-Norah-Mason-1930-s-/381660653201

It does state "Trevor" Mason not John on the actual site and description.

I would bet that's the same item EGB ... didn't sell at auction so it is on ebay

hopefully that will interest Jane!

wondering what Jane is looking for here ... ancestors of Ann-Jane Mitchell? :-S

In any case ... Jane, please don't type in all capital letters, it's difficult to read and loud :-)

Jane

Jane Report 12 Jun 2016 23:41

Kathleen,Many thanks for your reply-I am looking for any information on any of the above family.sorry I have not made it clear.

Joonie,I'm very sorry about the capitals letters -I can see it is very hard to read and as you say very loud-computer is all new to me(I'm 67 and just learning)

Eringobragh, nice to hear from you again as you always been very helpful and spot on with your information.I will have a look on ebay

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 13 Jun 2016 00:09

you even fixed it! :-)

but you still have to tell us what 'any information' means ...

ancestors of Ann Jane Mitchell and Thomas Brown

... or ... children of

Kathleen + John Ross
Norah + Trevor Mason
Stella + ?
Moya + ?

would they have married and lived in Northern Ireland or England?
do you know whether any of them had children?

if you tell us your connection with them it could help us know what you know and want to know.

I don't see death info that exactly matches Trevor Mason 1998, for instance ... do you know where he died? when he was born?

is one of these deaths your Norah?

Norah Margaret F Mason born 1915 died Nov 1996 Maidstone Kent
Norah Sheila Mason born 1915 Sep 1996 Salisbury Wiltshire

ditto for all the daughters, approximate birth years and anything you know about them

Jane Report 13 Jun 2016 00:24

Eringobragh,Many thanks -I found the album on E bay and I will be biding for it. again thanks (first class service) remember you helped me on the Mitchell family-William Mitchell(Dublin) Norah mother is my great grandfather daughter,
Thank you for your help

Jane Report 13 Jun 2016 00:35

Joonie,, Thanks-Norah Sheila Mason(nee Brown) is the one -she is the daughter of Ann Jane (nee Mitchell)and Thomas Brown-Kathleen , Stella, and Moya are all Norah sisters as far as I know. Looking any other information other than I have as above.

JoonieCloonie Report 13 Jun 2016 01:21

Oh Jane ... 'any other information' ...

so since you know about Ann Jane (Mitchell) Brown's ancestors ... they are your ancestors ... you want to know about descendants ... ?

you want to know whom Stella and Moya married? for instance?

you would like to contact descendants of Ann Jane's daughters?

do you know anything at all about any of them, such as whether Norah and Trevor had children?

you must have some idea of when all the daughters were born, since you know their names ...

Maybe if you explain how you have the information about Norah and her husband and their deaths, and about the names of the other daughters? Any idea of middle names for any of them?

the problem is that the name Brown is so common, and unless they lived in England (EGB can correct me if I'm mistaken) it would be very hard to find info about their marriages and children.

For instance, between 1935 and 1955, there were literally dozens of children born in England with the surname Mason whose mother was a Brown. Norah died in Wiltshire but that was many years later, so we could not even assume her children, if she had children, were born there. (Four children with those surnames were born in Wiltshire in the 1940s, but their parents were another couple who married there in 1942, for example.)

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 13 Jun 2016 01:44

I think Norah's husband was James Trevor Mason

his death

Name: James Trevor Mason
Birth Date: 20 Sep 1916
Date of Registration: Dec 1998
Age at Death: 82
Registration district: Ringwood and Fordingbridge
Inferred County: Hampshire
Register Number: 22
District and Subdistrict: 4981
Entry Number: 167

their marriage

Name: Norah S Brown
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1941
Registration district: Southampton
Inferred County: Hampshire
Spouse: James T Mason
Volume Number: 2c
Page Number: 194

there don't seem to be births in Hampshire that belong to them

unless ... a birth in the next quarter of 1941 in Aldershot is not easy to trace to a marriage because the father could have been in the military and posted there ...

and of course Trevor could have been in Southampton for the same reason, as he would have been 25 in 1941

hopefully if you buy that photo album it may have some family faces in it!

Joonie, Thank you for your reply-Norah Brown mother was born in Belfast, Co, Antrim, UK. Norah married Trevor Brown , they moved to England-I don't know if they had any children.I don't know the birth dates of Norah sisters-Stella and Moya or if they married.I have one sister Kathleen who was born 1909 ? and married John Ross.
My 3rd cousin in Australia is helping me with my research and she found the above information for me -not sure where she found the information that Norah was a professional ice skater.

A member of this site has

Stella Brown 1918 Belfast County Antrim Northern Ireland

in her tree

that member's surname is the same as Kathleen Brown's husband's

so I think they are related :-)

although it could be a coincidence

you can try to contact the member by the Find Out More button at that link.
