Could some-one please have a look in 1851 census for William Maddison born c1831 in Durham. I got the 1871/1881 census where he is married to MARY and it says 2nd marriage.

My friend had a marriage for him to Isabella Reed 3-11-1866 in Allendale Northumberland., but at least George and John were born before this date??

In the 1871 there is George 16, John 8, Thomas 5, Elizabeth 4,and JOSEPH 0 (along with some stepchildren whom I presume belong to Mary (2nd wife))

sorry if information is a little muddled, am still trying to make some sense of it myself! Teresa :-S
