I'm afraid I could get the Pallets Marriage Index Signatures to copy onto this but there is a difference between them

Perhaps the jan date is the banns rather than the actual marriiage

You have to have banns in for 6 weeks before a marriage can take place

Edit. No the jan date seems to be the correct one

The Pallot's just says 1792 with their names then at the bottom of the page is a stamped date 1 Mar for March no year and Orston Nots. , I think that's the stamp for the date it was transcribed to Pallot's. I'd take the church date as the date.

did Richard and sarah have about 5 children

Haven't looked further into family as yet so don't know about children. Sarah is not really in direct line - so am not overly interested in her - it was just seeing the different dates that sparked my interest . I get sidelined too easily!!

I agree about the church but puzzled by the Pallets - I have always found them reliable before. As far as I know the marriage banns are for three prior weeks - I've not come across 6 weeks yet.
