The marriage of John Ottway of Hoe to Elizabeth Howlett of Horstead may not fit with the Horning censuses of 1871 and 1881. Maybe we need to look for another marriage of a John Ottway to an Elizabeth. We will keep searching.

	If John and Hannah married before their first known child was born in 1833, there won't be a gro reference for it as civil registration didn't begin until 1837. Not all parish records are on line. After 1837, a number of couples married in a Register Office. Images of those events have to purchased rather than viewed on line. Member Since: March 2011 Posts: 15 Send Message	We have censuses for John with his wife Hannah, but cannot find a marriage for him (1st child born 1833). Hannah died in 1863 in Cawston. Then we think he is the same John as in 1871 and 1881 censuses in Horning with wife Elizabeth. There is mar reg in Norwich John Ottway to Elizabeth Howlett in 1866, but can't find actual marriages. Any info on either marriage would be really helpful.
