Have 1901 census showing James Bryanhill b1853 in Newleeds, Yorkshire with
his wife Alice b1864 in Seaham Harbour, along with their family. Alice appears again in 1911 as a widow, along with her children. They were living in Seaham Harbour area. I can't find a birth, marriage or a death for James or any info regarding Alice prior to 1901 census. I have all the records for the family after 1901.
Can anyone help????

The first appearance of the surname Bryanhill on Freebmd is James Wilfred's birth in 1898.
Thomas's birth is registered as Bryan-hills and also as Hills. I would say it looks like James and Alice didn't marry but used a combination of both their surnames.
Have you bought a birth certificate for any of the children please?
