Our Roger would be 26 on nominal census day (1/6/1900), but the pob of himself and his parents doesn't match and his b'day was Jun 1873 not Jan 1874.
He's living in a rooming house in Duluth Minn, and his landlord may have just guessed, or it might not be our Roger.
I didn't find any Roger Gask* in 1891 Canada (and US 1890 was 99.9% destroyed by fire).
