I wonder if anyone help me find Thomas Harries.
Born 1880 he is the son of James Harries born 1841.

I have the family from 1841 onwards but don't have Thomas in 1901 or 1911.

1881Family are still at Gernos Fach
RG11 Piece: 5426 Folio:7 Page:7

1891 Family are still at Gernos Fach
RG12 Piece:4542 Folio:84 Page:6

Both James and Thomas are missing in 1901 although I have James's wife Eliza.
I have James in 1911 but not Thomas.

I'd be very grateful for any help finding Thomas

Thank you but that's probably not him.

BTW the other James Harries you found was also part of my Harries clan.
They are a large family all with the same names ;-) ;-) ;-)
Edit - was typing as you posted the edit.

My grandfather is missing from the 1901 census because he was in Africa for the Boer War at the time. In the 1911 census he is at an army base in Gosport.

Where do you find the Boer War records?

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Apr 2016 12:04

For some Boer War records:
www.forces-war-records.co.uk

Free to search, but then you need a subscription to see the details.

EDIT:
Having said that, I see there are no search results for Thomas Harries. There are 47 for T or Thomas Harris.

Thomas was my great great uncle, he was a younger brother of my great great grandfather Morris Harries who was born January 25th 1871.
All I know about Thomas is that he was born October 23rd 1880 sorry.
I have not done any research on Thomas, but if I find anything useful I will let you know.

David Harries.

Welcome to the boards David.

Von may not be looking for replies now as it's 10 months since she last posted on this thread.

You could try clicking on her name to send a Personal message through the GR system - in the hopes she is still on the same email addy that she registered with GR so that they can notify her.

You then have to hope she opens it and replies.
