actually his file on Bon Vacantia said he was adopted in 1930 -so maybe an uncle
as same surname. think I'll give up and let him rest! 99% sure he's not my family anyway.

Well there is a John Corbett born in 1943 mmn Lockwood but it's in Basford

Possible she was evacuated during ww2

Maybe someone can post full details from the 1939 register- he has the correct DOB, and is living with Alfred E Corbett b1891 plus others

Hi Shirley -I can't see a marriage for him - i think he may connect to my Corbetts from Exeter -but can't prove it!

I guess that could be him abroad - the fmily were mostly doctors and surgeons, so could well have travelled.
