From the 1901 census on FMP, Eliza's relationship to the head of the house i.e. Alexander - is given as step daughter b Methlick, as was Christina. The others born Fyvie. Alexander's occupation is Farm Servant - horses.

You can't see the original census form on any site apart from Scotlands People and 1911 transcripts are only on SP - it's Pay as you go but relatively cheap - £7 buys 30 credits - it will cost 1 credit to get a listing of possible b/m/d's and a further 5 to access the certificate - approx £1.40 instead of an English £9.25. 5 credits will also get you an original census.

You can look at and download copies of the original certificates if they are over 100 years ago for births, 75 for marriages and 50 for deaths. Any more recent and it will give you the GROS reference number so you can send for them at about £12 a pop.

From the 1901 Census it would appear Christina had a daughter before her marriage to Alexander Young.??Once again, many thanks to all you researchers.

If you're right about his parents' names, this may be their marriage. No need to buy the cert for this - a few credits on SP will let you see / print the image of the original document, for all the details:

1923 YOUNG ALEXANDER
THOM MARY
NEW BYTH /ABERDEEN 210/A2 0001

The image will tell you their parents' names, and then you can search SP for their parents' marriages, and so on backwards in time.

Possibly Andrew G's birth (from Scotlands People) - you'd have to buy the cert to check parents' names. It would also tell you when & where they married.

1933 YOUNG ANDREW GEORGE M MACDUFF /BANFF 155/A2 0036
