there is a record on findmypast that shows that the Death Sentence in 1832 was changed by His Majesty the King for both William and Thomas to a sentence of "To be imprisoned & kept to Hard Labor in the House of Corrections for 1 Year".

They were on a long list of people sentenced to death for various offences on the Western Circuit, and then "humbly recommended" by the magistrates as "fit objects" for the mercy of the King.

Hi Iris ............

As you want to know about his descendants in Australia, may I suggest that you therefore edit the heading to this thread to include the word Australia .......... there are several Australian members on here who might have a better knowledge of records.

To edit the title .................. click on Edit in the top line of your first post ............ that is to the right of your name.

That post and the title will appear in a new screen. Just add Australia to the title, and then click Submit
