On 1921 census, Robt immig 1919 & rest immig 1920.
Not unusual for hubby to go out first to get job, accom, etc sorted, then have family join him later.
However, Robt's 1919 trip looks like he's a returning solder, and here's his attestation form dated 28/4/1916:

Robt's a grinder from Toronto, pob=Bolton, and n.o.k. is wife Hannah in Bolton - clearly our guy.

After training in Canada, Robt arrives in England 17/5/1917, and is placed in reserve.
He has some health problems and is hospitalized three times, returning to reserve in Bexhill and later Witley (near Godalming).
His final hospitalization s just after armistice day, when he's run over by an ambulance, breaking his fibuka.

Did he sail to Canada first before going to the US and does the document state where they are going to or doing on this trip?
