I thought the people who were good enough to help me with this chap and his family a little while ago would be interested to know I had a bit of luck. William was the one who went to jail for seven months for incest. Staffordshire Record Office had a photograph of him taken on his entry to Stafford Gaol on March 1st. 1913. For £5 they will send you a download so I now have a photograph of the miscreant. I'm sure photos of great-great-grandparents must be few and far between! |
