Austin,I had wondered if that was the one as his son James was the correct age & with you finding his daughter Elspeth Barbara it all fits.

Prickly/Holly, Isabella's death is the reason why I couldn't find her!

Trying to find Robert Laidler age c61/65 , wife Isabella age c61. In 1881 they were living Victoria Garesfield Colliery & in 1901 Robert was widowed & living with his son in law Peter Mcadam in Spennymoor.. In 1871 living Seaton Delaval. His place of birth in various census has been Spittal,Teord or Heatherslaw,(which is where he was actually born).Many thanks, Marg.
