Moira Report 9 Feb 2016 18:39

I am looking for my Aunt, May Morris.b. 1907 in Birmingham, husband Horace Burgess b.1902 Birmingham.they married Birminham 1927. They had a daughter Joan b. 1930 again Birmingham. They moved to Margate to run a guest house, we believe called Steyning Guest house in Trinity Square Margate. Does anyone have the electoral roll for Margate around the 1950s. we have found the guesthouse on record and a Horace Burgess there, we would like to know if May and Joan are with him, so we can be sure we have the right place.
Thankyou

Moira, you had another thread on this family with posts on it. You would be best keeping everything together on the same thread.

Frederick's father is also Charles Edward so I wonder if his name was put down as father by mistake.

As you want historical ER, contact Margate Library. They do have a Local Studies section. If for some reason they don't hold copies, they should be able to tell you where they are.

Contact details are here. Do bear in mind that they may make a 'look-up' charge.

The original thread suggests the death reg for May. Did you ever purchase it? It should give her place of birth and maiden name + the informant could be her next of kin.

Thank you everyone for your help, I contacted the Margate Family history and they did a check for me,May is with Horace at the Steynings House, Tinity Square.
Please could you help me find any threads that I have placed previously, do I have to go through all the threads I have posted or is there a short cut. Any help is much appreciate.

AustinQ Report 10 Feb 2016 18:14

You can see all the threads you have (and those you have commented on) by clicking "My Threads" on the left hand side of the page (under 'Tools').

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 10 Feb 2016 18:23

Assuming your 'my threads' works, there is a further link amongst the paragraph of text that says 'Threads started by me' or words to that effect. If you've added to other threads, that will help to eliminate them.

Unfortunately, for many members the link to 'My Threads' hasn't been working properly for several weeks. You may be successful, on the other hand you may get the dreaded Error message.
