Barbara ......................

that was the amount in 1915, do not compare that exact amount with what £1 would buy today

There are various sites online that will show you how much £1 at any time in the past would be worth today

I used .......

http://www.moneysorter.co.uk/calculator_inflation.html

£1 in 1915 would be equal to £71.87 today

£6 would be worth £431.24 today

10s would be worth £35.94

If he died in Sep 1915 in France, if he wasn't entitled to the 1914 Star, shouldn't he have been awarded the 1915 Star?

From Ancestry

UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929

Back pay of £1-5-6d sent to widow Elizabeth A for her self and children on 10 Feb 1916
War gratuity of £6 10/- sent to Elizabeth A on 2 Aug 1919
..........

As you know, over 70% of full WW1 records were destroyed during WW2. The chances that Forces War records have anything additional is remote.........but you never know

Anyone that is a member of Forces War records. I am doing research for a friend and have found on the above a Patrick Kennedy who died in France in 1915. I just entered his name and Reg No. 16488 and it came up but I cannot look at the record. He was in a West Yorkshire Regiment. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Barbara
