Hi all this family are really doing my head in :-(
parents are Geroge STEAD b1804 Emley Yorkshire and his wife Harriet b1805 lincolnshire (married 1829 lincoln).
children
charles b1828 b lincoln
william b1830 b lincoln
Joseph b1830 (no bap found)
George b1836 (no bap found)
Ann b1837 b coventry
Sarah b1839 b coventry
Benjamin b1842 (no bap found)
John b1844 (no bap found)
Hannah b1848 (no bap found)
can't find any of them on the 1841?
1851 they are in dover ref HO107/163
1861 i strongly believe this is george ref RG9/2539
but where is harriet? and no further sign of the children marriages/deaths or anything?? if anyone can help me unpick this lot i'd be really grateful. George job switches between mason/stone mason and labourer in case that helps. xxthanks xx

So if it is George, he is either separated from Harriet, or she has died, but in either case he is declaring himself single (or was that just what the Hullows thought?

Harriet if not dead, may be living with someone and taken their surname or perhaps remarried bigamously.

If she has taken another man's name then the younger children may well have that name too, but there is a chance the older ones from 1851 have married.

They seem to be a well travelled family which presents the problem of not tying them down to a particular place. Wish I could read those birthplaces!

yes it is the same place of birth and job!! as he says unmarried maybe they were no longer together or he was working away from home and they made a mistake or they got richard and george round the wrong way, but i can't find harriet anywhere or any of the children :-(
