Hi John

What is it that you want to know?

Do you know any of his family members?

You must have more info? If he was your gt.gt. grandfather what was the name and DOB of the child from whom you descend?

Maddie

Maddie Report 16 Jan 2016 12:01

Part of Berkshire until 1974:

East Lockinge is a village in Ardington and Lockinge civil parish, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Wantage. It was part of Berkshire until the 1974 local authority boundary changes transferred the Vale of White Horse to Oxfordshire. The village is included within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

To all who replied to my query regarding my g.g.grandfather James Woodley (1817) my sincere thanks. After much contact with Ancestry I have succeeded in filling in his complete timeline to 1881(transcription errors had him listed as Woodby and Madley). I have had to give him new wife but now can only give him a possible death during the 1880's. Thank you very much for your assistance. John Woodley.

There's this possible death - right age, anyway. (Why would he be in Hackney? Maybe went to live with one of his children when he retired?)
